What We Do
Well Aligned is a new, in-studio workshop for dancers, parents, faculty and studio owners.
The goal of these workshops is to empower young dancers with the tools to feel confident in their body, to feel mentally healthy and strong, and to have the knowledge to fuel their body for success. Topics covered include:
How dancers can feel more empowered and confident in their bodies
How to improve body image and self-esteem
How to fuel for dance class, competitions, recitals, and school
How to advocate for oneself
How to prioritize and maintain positive mental health
Being a dancer is tough. Performers strive for perfection, and those pink tights and mirrors don’t do anything to help our body image.
We promise we aren’t here to tell you to stop making students wear them… but we do believe there is a LOT we can do for you as studio owners, parents, teachers and students to help dancers feel CONFIDENT in those dang tights.
Well Aligned strives to connect dancers’ bodies with their minds in a holistic and supportive manner, fostering the development of their individual self-identity.
It’s 2024, the dance industry is on the cusp of a revolution. You have the power to be a catalyst for change or continue to perpetuate the problems that run rampant in this community. What impact will you choose to make for not only yourself, but for the next generation? The decision is yours.
You don’t have to do it alone- we are here to help!
How does it work?
Lauren and Sam will come to you and conduct in-studio workshops at your facility. Programming will focus on education for students and dancers, with supplemental content for studio faculty and parents/loved ones.
The workshops will include sessions with topics including body image, nutrition, mental health and overall community. Separate sessions will be held for for studio faculty as well as parents and dancers, each with their own curriculum.
Using their knowledge and expertise in nutrition and psychology, and their own personal experience as dancers, Lauren and Sam will educate and align teachers, students, and parents on how to have a more positive relationship with our body, mind, and overall well-being.
